Get Ready for Winter Driving

Winter in Saddle River

Winter is Here, Are You and Your Car Ready?

Winter has officially come to northern New Jersey and Saddle River. We just had a huge winter snowstorm that caused traffic jams and tons of accidents. With more snow to come this winter are you and your car ready for the winter cold, winds, snow, sleet, ice, and slush? We’ll give you some tips on how to prepare plus some special deals.

Probably the most important thing you can do for improved driving in wintery conditions is put on a set of winter tires. Even if you have all-wheel drive, it doesn’t matter. Winter tires is a game changer from driving with all-seasons or worst summer tires on your car. Winter tires have a gripper tire thread made for snow and ice. Plus their rubber compound is made for temperatures below 37 degrees and won’t be slippery like some all-season or performance tires.

If you don’t know what tires would be best for your car, SUV or truck then come to visit Scott at Tire & Wheel Performance Center in Ridgewood, NJ – right on Route 17 Southbound side. Scott will offer free tire advice and consultation including full pricing. Click on this coupon below:

If you leave your car outside at home or leave it outside during work hours, it sometimes takes time for your car to warm up and during a snowy or cold day. A popular technology that allows you to start up your car remotely is (no pun intended) called a Remote Starter. These modules are hard-wired into your car’s ignition system and are controlled by a wireless fob that you can attach to your car key or just carry in your pocket.

By pressing a button you can instantly start your automobile even if you are hundreds of feet away. Your car will still be locked to offer security but your car will be controlled by your remote starter fob allowing you to control the temperature inside and other features including lights.

Extreme Mobile Sounds in Paramus is a premium installer of Remote Starters and other electronics including car stereos, radar detectors and more. They have a special coupon for Saddle River News residents for $25 off any Remote Starter installation. Click on this coupon to redeem it when you talk to them.

Other items that would be good to have is a good waterproof pair of gloves and an ice-scraper with an extended handle. This allows you to scrap ice and large amounts of snow off your car during a snowstorm. Additionally always make sure your washer fluid is filled before winter starts. Washer fluid is commonly used in winter to wipe off the salty residue that builds on your windshields as you drive.

Its important to be equipped and prepared as you drive in wintery conditions.  We wish you a safe and wonderful winter.
